Today was the day we all were waiting for. And it was that 15minutes of performance that will determined our standard. I couldn't describe how nervous we were...
It all began after the trip at the
Genting Highlands,Malaysia for an international band
competition.( we got back a
SILVER. yay!)It was like,band practice 24/7. Kind of exaggerating but,really, there was no time to
have fun. My social life was
hiding somewhere... And it stinks.
So
yah, we practiced so hard. I guess we wanted to taste that victory again.
A lot of stress and scolding,that's for sure.
And now,the big day came. There were many alumni supporting us from Steven's batch to
faizul's batch. So i thought we were very lucky.
After the tuning and everything,that was it. It was our turn to perform.
We went up smartly to the stage and i couldn't help but look at the judges. It was very intimidating.. But it didn't stop me from focusing.
Word of the day-
Focus. It's really a powerful word,seriously. If u really focus,u can achieve it.Anyway,when we were playing our first piece,Overture1, Sir was giving us a few thumbs-up so i guessed we played pretty well. The only problem was,i played few notes wrongly so it totally crushed me. And not only me. Some others like,Umar and Miner. They broke down after that. After looking at all their faces, we weren't confident anymore..
It seemed like hours when we were at the conference hall,waiting for the results. Then when the emcee started saying the results,i was holding Shikins hand very tightly and we stared closing our eyes. The suspense was killing me..
Band #24, Changkat Changi Secondary School.....SILVER!Wow. How ecstatic we were. So those who didn't believe in us, In your face!(Ha!)We went back to school,very proud of ourselves. We totally made an improvement.
After the screams,we went home.
And now,i can fully concentrate on my studies(:
Here's a short post..Practically,I was doing homwork the whole morning. And now,I had no mood to study for an amath test tomorrow. I guess I felt that I had no life..
It's always the same thing.
Weekdays:school, band practice/remedial, homwork.
Weekends:homework,catechism class-oh and i'm in a Con1 class. Don't bother asking me why,long story.. And of course,going for mass.
And this cycle repeats again and again. How boring.
okay,look at the time. I better start studying for the test or i'll sure regret!
oh yah,btw, I borrowed an R13 clarinet from Pasir Ris Sec yesterday. I was so envious.

Finally. It's been 1week since a blogged. Yup,u should know why. Coming home from school at an earliest time of 1900hours. And not forgetting the never ending homework.(most of them are Amath papers) At this rate,I think I'll only use the computer on fridays,and on weekends. But I doubt so.. Example,comp couldn't work just now.. I ended up using my dad's laptop when he got home. Pathetic.
Right. Back to the topic. So yah,this whole week I've been concentrating more on Band than school. And it's a big no-no. I guess I'm just worried for the Band. 3 more days to Central Judging.And i can tell u that we are still not prepared. How scary can that get.. There are just so many reasons why we wanted a Silver so badly.So that explains the late practices everyday,and of course the rushing of homework at night with the struggle of keeping my eyelids open. Super tired,that's what I'll say.Fast forward>>>
Today,after school,I ate a quick lunch and rushed to the band room for a short practice. I was like,why must it be at the highest floor? It's a good thing that there's a lift. Or I might easily loose 3kg in a week by just walking up and down the stairs. You just don't know how many times I walk up and down those thing.
After the 2hour practice,me and Peilin went to DailyFresh to get some waffles. Damn. My lips were hurting and I don't know when my thumb's gonna drop off. The clarinet is heavier than what most people expected.. We chatted for awhile and went home. I was in time for Beauty and the Geek. Hilarious!
March16th-Chinese Oral.
Apparently, I was tested on normal chinese. And for goodness sake,I'm on the Clb list. I guess my teacher doesn't know that.. So what's the point,right? But luckily i knew what the teacher was saying. With her china accent and everything, I was actually glad that i could at least say a few sentences. After that,ate branch with some classmates and went over to his place...
March17th- Band Camp.
If u ask me, I actually thought that the camp was not that bad... It was like,band practice in the morning, lunch, band practice, went to the Singapore Conference Hall for a sound check, bathe, BBQ, night practice. Yupp. A super tiring day. But surprisingly, we didn't really sleep. It's just so fun to be with the band members:DD
March18th-Didn't do much..I woke up around 6plus, surprised to see some guys still chatting. I don't know how they can take it.. We packed our bags and was eager to go home, cleaned the area and headed out of school. The funny thing was,i slept at macs the whole morning! Did Amath homework, used comp..
March19th-Band Exchange@ Henderson Secondary School, Extra class(Amath)Today, Sir was satisfied with us. Yay,for the very first time.. I guess we sounded pretty good(:
Personally, I thought that it was the best performance among all the other exchanges. Keep it up,people. After the exchange, rushed to school for class. Learn a new topic.

The performance was not that good. I still think the best performance was when we went to Henderson's
Basically,my holiday was taken up by band.

First of all,i wanna say,
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Yeah..this is like,my 4th blog. And i bet everyone will be askin if i'll still be updating after six months(that was the longest) Well,i will never know. School's hectic! It's only the beginning of the year and i already have a hard time coping. Sometimes,i regret choosing 3e1 but i am glad that i am an optimistic person..Today's the last day of school. yay! But get to think of it,it won't be so much like a holiday.. I have to go back to school every single day. So what's the point? ya? And i just gotten my progress report. Didnt do a good job. So i'm planning to show it to my parents on the first day of school,which is like 7am in the morning. They will be too sleepy to read what they are signing and as a result, i can get away with the scolding. Am i a genius or what? haha,just kidding...I guess i'll just have to face the music..sometimes it's hard to do the right thing..
So yah..i'll be doing alot of revision next week and it's really time to buck up. Wake up,jannine!
But despite of all this,i had a great time with my classmates today:DD yes,we soo did.
After school,we went to Seoul Garden,tampines mall for our very first class outing. Gosh. I don't know to describe the place but there were sure loads of raw meat. and fish. We get to cook it by ourselves and it tasted goood:) 3hrs and 30mins of eating nonstop. Beat that?.. okay, i had to admit that there were some chatting going on, toilet breaks and picture takings but we sure ate alot.
Yeah, what a great way to end the day.
